Apply online

- Having a valid passport that will not expire for the next 6 months (starting on the planned arrival in Vietnam date)
- Having a passport-photo like photograph to attach to the online application (the photo has to be at least 6 months recent)

Please note that once you choose a way of crossing the Vietnam border (either land, air, or sea) and state it in your application, you cannot change it. E.g., you cannot change the air to sea if you have already submitted your form. In that case, a new visa application would be necessary to make.
However, if you want to change one seaport stated in the application to another one (also a seaport accepting e-Visas), you can do so without applying for a new visa.
List of countries that can enter Vietnam visa-free
- Chile: for visits up to 90 days
- Cambodia, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand: for visits up to 30 days
- Philippines: for a stay up to 21 days (if you wish to stay for more than 21 days, an electronic Vietnam visa is necessary to have)
- Brunei, Myanmar: for a stay of up to 14 days (Vietnam visa is obligatory for more extended stays)
- Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Spain, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Norway, Russia, Sweden, United Kingdom, Italy: for visits of up to 15 days (citizens of these countries have to take a 30-day break in between each travel to visit Vietnam visa-free each time.)
Please note that if you are, e.g., a United Kingdom citizen and wish to travel without the 30-day gap in between travels, Vietnam e-Visa for UK citizens is obligatory in that case.
