  • Transit: Vietnam visa is an obligatory document for anyone transiting through the country to arrive at their final destination. It has to be handled in advance, as getting a transit e-Visa on arrival is not possible.

Please remember that your stay in Vietnam can only be extended upon arrival if you pay the additional fees.

Vietnam visa requirements

Each applicant has to prepare two essential documents to ensure successful Vietnam visa approval. Every traveller has to meet the following visa requirements before applying online:

  • Having a valid passport that will not expire for the next 6 months (starting on the planned arrival in Vietnam date)
  • Having a passport-photo like photograph to attach to the online application (the photo has to be at least 6 months recent)

If you have the above-described documents ready, you can start the application process. Use any device of your choice to complete the process. Remember to have a stable internet connection to avoid issues while applying.

Please note that your passport and electronic visa are connected. Any changes to your passport details, losing this document, or passport expiry leads to your visa becoming invalid.

Entering Vietnam is only possible through one of the specified ports that accept electronic Vietnam visas as valid travel documents. There are a lot of options to choose from. Before applying, think about what port of entry you want to select because it is necessary to state which one you will use in the application form.
